We are experiencing a very nice warm up – in the 40′s, but it is predicted to be back in the teens this weekend. Hope that doesn’t mean subzero for the Iowa clan. When I post off the contributor level, I “Submit for Review” rather than publish. Does this mean that you don’t have to approve those from the author or editor?
At 4:15 Saturday afternoon, I got a call from Neil Steege asking me if what I was doing, and I told him, like the good accountant , I was working on taxes. Well, short story — a semi-surprise retirement party was going to happen around 5:30 in a town about an hour away from us for Duaine’s former Post Office supervisor, Bruce Smith. Had anyone notified us? No, but it sounded like something we should attend and as soon as I hung up the phone with Neil, I called Duaine to tell him about the party. He thought it sounded good to him, and I headed home from the office to change clothes we were out the door by 4:30.
It turned out to be quite the reunion for Duaine and a lot of his former co-workers. A fun group gathered at the Dry Dock Sports Bar & Grill in Shueyville, IA to wish Bruce Smith Happy Retirement.

Bruce Smith & Duaine Bollwitt- Together again!
