Last week Josie K. showed me a science project she was assigned to do. Her class is studying cell production and she had to simulate either an animal or plant cell. The project had to be edible. So…..Sunday she and Grandma worked together to assemble something that looked like an animal cell. Here’s what the completed project looked like. We did have fun and Josie K. did all the mixing and finishing touches on her own. Grandma was there to help with ideas, moral support and of course – clean up!

The two Josies.
Our oldest grandson, Alex, has been a dedicated soccer player for quite a few years. He entered high school this fall and was elected co-captain of the freshmen soccer team. Alex is looking forward to a successful school year.

Alex Bollwitt Class of 2013!
Friday afternoon we went to a cross country meet to see Anthony Kinley and Ben Bollwitt run at the Fillimore Golf course north of Cascade Iowa. It was a perfect day and the boys did really well.

Anthony & Ben after meet.
Every year Homecoming comes to Monticello. This year Anthony Kinley (Beth Bollwitt’s son) really got into the school spirit. Beth sent this picture to me labeled “Our Future.” What a kid! The wig was Uncle John’s back in the “old days.”

Go Panthers!
